Swedish Descent
Gaining his inspiration from a set of silk-covered Swedish lamps, designer George Nelson created the first set of lamps with a translucent white plastic spray. Years later the materials have developed and now the Nelson Bubble Lamps are a delicate design.
Variety
The Nelson Bubble Lamps are available in a variety of shapes and sizes to different workspaces. The shapes include Ball, Pear, Cigar, Saucer, Apple, Bell, Lantern and Propeller.
Nelson Bubble Lamp Design Story
George Nelson designed his beautiful, unique Bubble Lamps after being inspired in Sweden by a visually aesthetic set of hanging lamps. However he didn’t appreciate the price so set out to design something he would equally love and that people could afford.
Nelson’s eagerness for this lamp allowed him to make his first prototype in just two days! With no welding costs and minimum tools, Nelson produced this lamp with perforated rings, steel wires, resinous lacquer and plastic, with the end result creating a smooth, elegant hanging lamp.
With the design and style developing over the years, this has become a timeless lighting feature.
Pendants
With a variety of styles available, the Nelson Bubble lamp is a beautiful lighting feature. The Bubble Pendant design has been developed and is now available in unique shapes to suit different preferences.
Available in a variety of sizes too, this allows offices of many shapes and sizes to benefit some this graceful and classical piece.
